Advantages: Low power consumption and low price.
Defect: The rotation of TN LCD display screen is only 90 degrees, resulting in a narrow viewing angle. In addition, the photoelectric response curve of TN liquid crystal is flat, so it appears lower than the illumination.
(Highly twisted nematic) nematic liquid crystal molecules are sandwiched between two transparent glasses, and the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules is deflected by 110-130 degrees between these two glasses.
Advantages: High specific illumination, low power consumption, low driving voltage, and poor dynamic driving performance.
Defect: The viewing angle is wider than TN type.
Advantages: Wide viewing angle, high visibility, suitable for driving below 240 channels.
Defect: Compared to TN, the price is higher and can only show monochrome.
In order to improve the backlight of ordinary STN, a compensation film has been added to the polarizer, which can eliminate dispersion and achieve black and white display.
VA panel belongs to the wide viewing angle panel and is widely used in high-end LCD screens.
Advantages: The black and white contrast is quite high.
Defect: The cost of materials is high and the price is high.
